Katy’s Black Light Experience
I got up at intermission thinking, “this is absolutely amazing!” and then I left last night thinking, “wtf”? As a piece of art work, I think Aspects of Alice was amazing. It captivated me. But, as a story line, I felt somewhat confused. It was like swiss cheese- There’s enough there to know that it is wonderful, but it still has holes. I love the concept but, this story took as strange turn at the end. I did not dis like the story, I think I just need to see it again to understand more. I think there is something that I missed in the beginning. I felt, by the end, that the whole play was his dream… not Alice’s. He created Alice and controlled her “dreams” (or hallucinations…) and overall, controlled her, really. I understood Alice being naked… but, what was up with the other naked girl? What was the point in that? Overall, I thoughly enjoyed the experience and am interested in seeing another before I leave.

I would like to see another performace…perhaps something i’m more familiar with. I would still like to understand the story behind Aspects of Alice, though. I agree, it was as if it was his dreams, not hers. I began with him, after all, and he is a reoccurring theme in the performance. Still confused, though…. Oh, and did she really die? i understand your reasoning for it being so, but what if it was “just a dream”…
I didn’t get both girls being naked either, were they trying to spread the word about the show?? “Come see the show there are naked girls together!” I dont think they portrayed the story well.
I don’t blame you for being confused, I will post about the show myself. I certainly encourage you to see something else. Maybe something with a discernable plot.
